Do we need permission to have a 15-20 minute wedding ceremony there beside the lighthouse, if it's just the two of us and the officiant? Is this considered private property?

Since you have to access their parking lot to get to the lighthouse, I probably would check with them. It would be a beautiful place for a ceremony! I hope it works out for you.

I don't recall how well you can see Beavertail from Castle Hill, but I stopped on my way home. If you don't take the second bridge as you leave Newport and head to Jamestown it's not a far drive. The area is beautiful...well worth the short trip!

The lighthouse is located on the same property. If you park at the far end of the parking lot, there is a short path that will take you to the lighthouse.
