Stunning display of plant life. Easily among the top 3 botanical gardens we have ever visited. Must have taken 500 pictures and spent 4 hours finding all kind of surprises along the way. A definite … Full review by Marcia P

As a horticulturist and nature lover there is not enough time in several days to truly explore and understand the diversity and countless plants collected here. I have been there three times and ever… Full review by Wander08355224592

This was one of our favorite things we did on the Big Island! The flowers and plants were beautiful, and the views were amazing! There was a steep decline down (and eventual hike back up) but it was … Full review by hbaldini

Are the trails stroller friendly?

My wife and I could’ve done it if we had one stroller. More than one would be tough because of the steps and one adult couldn’t do it. Yes, the first part of the walk is steep but not too …

It depends, are you cruising into port in Kailua Bay near Kona or near Hilo? If you are on the Hilo east side of the Big Island, If you are coming from Kona, it is about a 2 hr drive to get to the east side. If you are coming from Hilo it is about a 15 minute drive. We rented a car so I'm not that familiar with getting taxis but with Lyft and Uber there should be many options available from the Hilo side. It might be more difficult to get a ride from the west side port. Good luck and safe travels!

We have only been to the Hawaii Tropical Garden so can't compare it to the World Botanical Garden. What I can tell you is that we absolutely loved the HTG and spent far more time there than we expected because it was so beautiful and there was so much to see. It's also interesting that we never even heard of the WBG. We talked to many locals on our trip and everyone unanimously recommended the HTG as a must see and so we decided to go. We were not disappointed at all.

Hi, Nancy. What would you like to know about this attraction? We are excited about coming in November on a Cruise Ship for just one day. Do we need to make reservations ahead of time? We will need a golf cart as we are aged 87 and 81 and don't walk long distances. Anything else we need to know? Thanks. Nancy Hawaii.
