An XR headset isn't the only device mentioned in Samsung's filing. While the patent doesn't dive too deeply into the topic, it does inlcude a set of smart glasses. They are shown both alone and next to the headset. The patent lists the glasses as a "wearable device for displaying visual objects."

Samsung is working on some kind of XR hardware and, while it has yet to detail the product publicly, a newly published patent (spotted by 91mobiles) has given us our best look yet at what it’s working on – as well as teasing that Samsung is unsure what form its XR gadget should actually take.

A new Samsung patent was discovered as the company submitted information and illustrations for an XR headset. The headset features a slim front design alongside the ability to create "reference points" for its virtual space to aid the user's FoV.

Samsung has confirmed it will release an XR device in 2025. The confirmation comes from its third quarter earnings report where a slide mentioned XR devices under 2025 Outlook. There's been some speculation surrounding the company's upcoming XR device after some code for the Google Play Store suggested the app store is preparing to present XR compatibility on apps and games.
